The US Justice Department has threatened investigations into 45 major corporations, including Amazon and Yum! Brands, for allegedly violating anti-discrimination laws.
Conservative activists, linked to President Donald Trump’s administration, have compiled a list of companies targeted for their diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts. Groups led by Stephen Miller, now White House deputy chief of staff for policy, and Edward Blum, an anti-affirmative action activist, have been attacking these companies since 2020.
The combined market value of the affected firms is nearly $10 trillion. Corporate lawyers and advisers are reviewing the list to anticipate potential government investigations.
