Queen Camilla attended a National Theatre reception at Buckingham Palace last night, where she was treated to a surprise performance of her favorite play, The Importance of Being Earnest. The evening featured performances by Cate Blanchett, Andrew Garfield, and James Corden, among others.
Camilla, who took over as patron of the National Theatre in 2022, mingled with performers at the palace’s Picture Gallery, where she admired the fictional Lady Bracknell’s jewelry. In a speech, Sir Damon Buffini praised Camilla’s support, saying it means “a huge amount” to the theatre.
