Delta Offers $30,000 Compensation After Crash Landing at Toronto Airport

Delta Air Lines is providing financial support to passengers involved in a recent plane crash landing at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport runway. The airline has agreed to pay $30,000 each to 76 individuals on board the flight that experienced the incident.

The aircraft, operated by regional subsidiary Endeavor Air, crashed on February 17 while traveling from Minneapolis. Despite the severity of the incident, no fatalities were reported, with at least 18 people injured.

Delta has reassured passengers and their families that the compensation is not contingent upon any claims. The airline’s Care Team will provide support to affected individuals, including accommodations, meals, transportation, and other needs.

Following the crash, Delta worked closely with airport authorities and Air Canada to remove the damaged aircraft from the runway. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has taken charge of investigating the incident, which is still ongoing.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. However, Toronto Pearson Airport’s President and CEO Deborah Flint acknowledged that the weather could have played a role in the incident.
