Alan Ritchson Slams Matt Gaetz as “Not a Good Dude”

Actor Alan Ritchson, known for his role in the TV series Reacher, has spoken out against former congressman Matt Gaetz in an interview with GQ. The two were classmates at a high school in Niceville, Florida.

Ritchson described Gaetz as an “adversary” and called him “not a good dude.” His comments likely refer to Gaetz’s support for pardons, including a 2020 appearance on Fox News where he recommended that President Donald Trump pardon several individuals, including his friend Roger Stone.

Gaetz served in Florida’s state legislature from 2010 to 2016 and later became the representative for the state’s 1st district. However, he withdrew from consideration as U.S. Attorney General after being nominated by President-elect Trump.

The House Ethics Committee investigated Gaetz and found “substantial evidence” that he had violated House Rules regarding prostitution, statutory rape, and obstruction of Congress. Gaetz denied the allegations.

Ritchson said that his dislike for Gaetz made him consider running for office himself. However, he also noted that he doesn’t think he would be effective in politics due to his own moral compass. He praised Bernie Sanders as a hero, but questioned whether he had achieved enough.

Reacher season 3 premieres on Prime Video this Thursday.
