xAI has made its most advanced large language model, Grok 3, available for free on its platform and website for a limited time. Users who don’t have a subscription will still be able to access the model, but paid users will get priority and more features. Grok 3 offers “human-like reasoning” capabilities and is best suited for complex queries involving mathematics, science, and programming.
A new feature called DeepSearch has also been added, which generates summaries for research inquiries. The free version of Grok 3 warns that it may hit server limits if many people interact with it at the same time. Paid users, however, get access to Big Brain mode, which can answer tough problems, and unlimited image generation. These benefits are exclusive to xAI Premium+ subscribers and those who use the SuperGrok standalone app.
The company launched Grok 3’s model family recently, describing it as “an order of magnitude more capable” than its predecessor, Grok 2. This new model is a significant improvement, offering users more advanced features and capabilities.
