Alec Baldwin Reveals PTSD Diagnosis After ‘Rust’ Shooting

Actor and producer Alec Baldwin’s wife Hilaria has revealed that he was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) following the fatal 2021 “Rust” shooting. The incident resulted in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured film director Joel Souza.

In their new reality series, “The Baldwins”, the couple opens up about their efforts to shield their children from the aftermath of the tragedy. Alec Baldwin shared that during his darkest moments, he would wonder if an accident had happened that day, why he was still alive.

Baldwin’s case was dismissed in July 2024, and he pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter charges. The family’s reality show is set just before the start of his trial, with the celebration of one of their seven children’s birthdays.

Hilaria Baldwin expressed sadness for all involved, particularly Hutchins’ family, who lost a loved one. She acknowledged that Alec’s pain was difficult to watch but stated it paled in comparison to Helena’s loss and her son’s grief.

The reality series “The Baldwins” airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC, offering a glimpse into the couple’s life as they navigate their struggles with mental health and family dynamics.
