The Jacksonville Jaguars have appointed James Gladstone, 34, as their new general manager, effective immediately. Gladstone, who previously served as the director of college scouting for the Los Angeles Rams, emerged from a five-man finalist pool that included Jaguars interim GM Ethan Waugh and other notable football executives.
Jaguars owner Shad Khan praised Gladstone’s exceptional skills and vision, citing his ability to deliver new ideas, communicate effectively, and demonstrate a keen understanding of the league and team. The news comes as the Jaguars look to build on their recent offseason overhaul, which included hiring Liam Coen as head coach and Tony Boselli as executive vice president of football operations.
Gladstone’s success with the Rams has been instrumental in drafting talented players, including 2023 AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Puka Nacua and 2024 AP NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Jared Verse. He will now lead the Jaguars’ efforts to build a winner and turn the franchise around.
