Dan Aykroyd Watches ‘SNL50’ From Home and Gives it Thumbs Up

Dan Aykroyd, one of the original “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) cast members, attended the show’s 50th anniversary special but couldn’t make it in person. He made up for it by watching the live broadcast on TV.

Aykroyd shared his thoughts on X, saying he was able to see every second of the concert and show. His kids even chimed in with a message saying “Look at daddy’s smile!” Aykroyd congratulated Lorne Michaels on a job well done, acknowledging that not attending might have been an advantage.

Notable cast members such as Chevy Chase, Laraine Newman, Garrett Morris, Jane Curtin, and Bill Hader were all absent from the special. However, their absence didn’t dampen the celebration, with Newman and Curtin paying tribute to late original cast member Gilda Radner during the farewell.
