British phone maker Nothing took a swipe at Apple and Samsung in a recent camera comparison video, but its own reputation took a hit when it was revealed that it had used the wrong iPhone camera. The company’s mid-range Phone 3a showcased impressive video stabilization capabilities, outperforming the iPhone 16 Pro Max with sharper and cleaner footage. However, Nothing later admitted to using the ultrawide lens, which is not designed for high-quality video, on the iPhone in the comparison clip. This mistake highlighted a lack of scrutiny from the company, and its earlier jab at Apple’s camera also didn’t go unnoticed. Despite this setback, Nothing’s Phone 3a still appears to be a solid mid-range device with promising features like a telephoto lens, upgraded Snapdragon processor, and improved cameras. Its release is set for March, but it won’t be a direct challenger to the iPhone.
