Apple Launches Apple News+ Food for iOS and iPad Users

Apple has introduced a new feature called Apple News+ Food, which allows users to search, discover, save, and easily cook recipes from dozens of existing News+ publishing partners. The feature will be available as part of iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4 in April, initially in the U.S., U.K., Canada, and Australia.

Apple News+ Food focuses on recipes offered by Apple News+ publishers, with over 30 publishers on board at launch, including well-known brands like Allrecipes, Bon Appétit, and Epicurious. Tens of thousands of recipes will be available through the service.

The new experience lets users find a featured recipe, curated by Apple’s editorial team, followed by food and dining-related stories and broader recipe collections in the Apple News app’s Today feed. Users can also access their saved recipes, browse recipes from specific publishers, or search for something specific using filters like “dinner,” “easy,” and more.

Recipes are formatted to be clutter and ad-free, with key information highlighted in a clear format that links back to the publisher’s website. Apple added features such as tapping on an ingredient to see the amount needed without having to scroll back to the ingredients list or starting a timer for cooking tasks.

However, the service is missing the ability to add own recipes or import/export recipes from other apps. The new service requires an Apple News+ subscription, which starts at $12.99 per month in the U.S.
