Sean “Diddy” Combs’ defense team is losing a member as one of his attorneys, Anthony Ricco, has announced he wants to quit the case. Ricco filed a notice in Manhattan federal court stating he can no longer effectively serve as counsel due to unspecified reasons. Combs, 55, remains incarcerated without bail while awaiting a May 5 trial on sex trafficking charges. The six-attorney team will need to get approval from the court before making any changes. Ricco’s departure does not expect to delay the trial. Combs also faces multiple sexual assault lawsuits and is accused of using his wealth and influence to coerce victims into drug-fueled performances, employing blackmail and violence as intimidation tactics.
