Listeria Outbreak Linked to Nursing Home Shakes Recalled

A nationwide recall has been issued for cartons of frozen shakes sold to nursing homes and other institutions due to a listeria outbreak linked to 11 deaths. The affected products, labeled under the brands Lyons ReadyCare and Sysco Imperial, were sold to institutional customers, including hospitals and long-term care facilities. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), cases of listeria infection date back to 2018, infecting 38 people, including 11 who lost their lives.
