Steph Curry Achieves Historic Milestone in Warriors’ Win

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry has reached a historic scoring milestone, becoming the 21st player in NBA history to score 20 or more points in 700 games. Curry scored 20 points in the Warriors’ 132-108 win over the Sacramento Kings, going 7-for-13 on his field goal attempts.

The achievement is all the more impressive given that Curry is the first Golden State player to reach this mark. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was full of praise for Curry’s accomplishment, saying “That’s pretty impressive.”

Curry’s teammate Moses Moody and Buddy Hield led the team in scoring with 22 points each, while Brandin Podziemski added 21 points. The win marks Golden State’s fourth consecutive victory since the trade deadline and their acquisition of Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat.

Butler had a strong game for the Warriors, contributing 17 points, seven assists, and three rebounds. With this win, the team has improved to 4-1 with Butler in the lineup. The Warriors are now two-and-a-half games outside the playoff positions, but Curry believes that the back-half of the season is crucial for their chances.

“We have a 27-game playoff push,” Curry said after the game. “Every game is important, and we need to stay locked in and maintain our momentum coming out of the break.”

The Warriors’ win was part of a busy night in the NBA, with other conference leaders returning from the All-Star break with big victories. The Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Utah Jazz 130-107, while the Cleveland Cavaliers overcame the New York Knicks 142-105.
