Microsoft is pushing Windows 10 users to upgrade to Windows 11 with full-screen ads, despite the operating system’s impending support end date. The company has been running a campaign since months ago, warning users that Windows 10 will no longer receive updates after October 14, 2025.
However, instead of emphasizing the benefits of upgrading to Windows 11, Microsoft is now advertising new hardware options like Copilot+ PCs. This includes full-page ads on Windows 10 devices, urging users to buy a new PC running the latest operating system.
Despite the ads, many users are hesitant to upgrade due to hardware requirements and lack of compelling reasons for switching. Additionally, the cost of upgrading can be expensive, especially considering that some editions of Windows 10 will still receive security updates after support ends.
It’s worth noting that customers can keep receiving security updates through the Extended Security Update (ESU) program if they choose not to upgrade to Windows 11. However, this information is not being highlighted in Microsoft’s ads, leaving users with a limited understanding of their options.
