Hamas has refused to engage in talks with Israel through mediators unless Palestinian prisoners are released as agreed. The group made this statement amid a surge of violence in the region.
In the West Bank, 40,000 Palestinians were evacuated from their refugee camps, and tanks have been deployed in Jenin for the first time since 2002. Israeli forces have also demolished over 120 homes in the city’s refugee camp, with dozens more damaged.
Meanwhile, Lebanon has expressed its frustration with ongoing conflicts, stating that it is “tired of other people’s wars”. The country supports a two-state solution and condemned recent Israeli strikes during the funeral of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
