Stock Futures Rise on Wall Street’s Bounce Back

Stock market futures rose early Monday morning as investors sought to bounce back from a losing week on Wall Street. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 220 points, or 0.51%, with S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures also rising 0.54% and 0.53%, respectively.

The week ahead is expected to bring key readings on corporate earnings and the economy. Home Depot’s earnings report on Tuesday will provide insight into US consumer spending, while Nvidia’s earnings report on Wednesday could be impacted by recent developments in the AI trade.

Renewed concerns about economic growth in the US have weighed on stocks last week, but major indexes remain within 4% of their record highs. Berkshire Hathaway reported a surge in fourth-quarter operating earnings and cash holdings over the weekend.

As investors look ahead to the week, they will be monitoring key data points such as the January reading of the personal consumption expenditures index, which is the Federal Reserve’s preferred measure of inflation.
