The National Football League (NFL) is re-examining its kickoff format, which has been unchanged since 2021. Co-chairman of the league’s competition committee revealed that potential modifications could include changing where the ball is placed on a touchback or altering the spot of the kick itself during an attempt to reduce injuries and improve player safety.
