Liverpool took another step towards the Premier League title with a 2-0 win at Manchester City, extending their lead to 11 points. Mohamed Salah scored his league-leading 25th goal of the season in the 14th minute and Dominik Szoboszlai doubled the lead in the 37th.
The victory sees Liverpool move further ahead of chasing Arsenal, with the Reds now 64 points from 27 matches. City are 20 points adrift in fourth spot on 44 points.
Salah’s goal came after a blistering shot deflected off Nathan Ake’s foot past Ederson. Szoboszlai took advantage of City’s poor defending to score the second, assisted by Salah.
The win marked Liverpool’s lowest possession percentage this season, but they made up for it with several crucial moments. The match saw City fall to their eighth defeat of the season, their worst campaign under Pep Guardiola since 2019-20.
