Sigma has unveiled the BF, a compact full-frame camera designed to simplify the photography experience. Weighing just 13.7 ounces and measuring 5.1 by 2.9 by 1.4 inches, this L-mount camera features a radical new design with only three buttons, a dial, and a shutter release.
The camera’s user interface is intentionally minimalistic, displaying key settings on the live view screen and secondary settings in an optional menu. The focus mechanism uses a hybrid autofocus system combining phase detection and contrast detection for fast and accurate subject tracking.
A 24.6-megapixel sensor with a native ISO range of 100 to 102,400 allows for flexible shooting, while a built-in SSD provides ample storage for up to 14,000 JPEG files or 4,300 uncompressed RAW images. The camera can shoot video in 6K resolution at up to 29.97 fps and features 13 color modes for creative expression.
The Sigma BF will be available in black and silver versions, shipping by April 2025, with a retail price of $1,999.
