Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders Won’t Attend NFL Combine

Shedeur Sanders, considered one of the top quarterbacks in the April draft, will skip this year’s NFL scouting combine due to health concerns. Sources confirmed to ESPN that Sanders won’t participate in on-field workouts at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. However, he will still meet with teams in person.

This decision comes as a surprise given his impressive performance last season, where he led the nation in completion rate and Big 12 in passing yards and touchdowns. His father, Deion Sanders, coach of Colorado, made a case for his son’s top pick status earlier this month on ESPN’s “Get Up!” program.

Sanders is currently ranked No. 4 overall prospect and No. 1 quarterback by ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr.’s latest Big Board. He has trained with other top quarterbacks, including Miami’s Cam Ward, in recent months. Despite missing the combine, Sanders’ impressive college stats, including an FBS record of 71.8% completion rate over two seasons at Colorado, will likely keep him in the draft conversation.
