Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows has leaked almost a month before its official release date on March 20. The game was spotted by fans on the Resetera forum, and Ubisoft advises players to “stay in the shadows” to avoid spoilers.
The development team is working on patches to prepare the experience for launch, but footage shared online does not represent the final quality of the game. Leaks can diminish excitement for players and Ubisoft kindly asks them to refrain from spoiling the experience for others.
Fans had reported seeing pictures and videos of the game from someone who claimed to have obtained a copy online. The game was also spotted on a US auction site, selling for $100 each, and several streamers played it on Twitch before removing their streams.
Ubisoft has not commented further on the leak, but GamesRadar+ will provide updates as more information becomes available.
