The Minnesota Timberwolves staged an incredible comeback to defeat the Oklahoma City Thunder 121-121 in overtime, spoiling their winning streak. Anthony Edwards led the charge with 17 points, 13 rebounds, and eight assists, including a game-saving block on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
Despite trailing by 25 points early, Minnesota rallied behind a standout performance from Jaden McDaniels (27 points, 11 rebounds) and Naz Reid (22 points, 11 boards). The Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 39 points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Wolves’ late surge.
The game seesawed back and forth, with Minnesota trailing by as many as 22 in the third quarter. However, they stormed back in the fourth, outscoring the Thunder 41-19 to tie the game at 121-121 with 11 seconds left. A costly foul by Alex Caruso led to a tie-breaking basket from McDaniels.
In overtime, Nickeil Alexander-Walker hit a clutch jumper off an assist from McDaniels, and Anthony Edwards sealed the win with a block on Gilgeous-Alexander’s layup attempt. The Timberwolves’ dramatic comeback victory lifted them to 32-27, while the Thunder fell to 46-11. Minnesota will look to build momentum when they travel to Los Angeles to face LeBron James and the Lakers on Thursday.
