Samsung’s highly anticipated foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, has reportedly leaked its first images. The upcoming device is expected to be thinner and lighter than its predecessor, with a rumored thickness of under 8.6mm.
According to reports, Samsung has ditched sharp corners on the new design, adopting a rounder look similar to its recent Galaxy S25 Ultra release.
In terms of specs, the Z Fold 7 is said to feature a larger, thinner device than the previous model, with some sources claiming it will be even thinner than the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The device may also share parts from the Fold 6E, hinting at an 8-inch interior display and a 6.5-inch cover display, both of which would be AMOLED.
Powering the new foldable is expected to be either Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2500 chip or the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite, with some reports suggesting the latter might be used instead. The battery capacity remains unchanged at 4,400mAh, despite a lack of recent updates from Samsung.
One notable aspect is the absence of the Samsung S Pen stylus on the new device, but it should still be compatible with the phone. Rumors also suggest that Samsung is working on a brand-new S Pen with an improved tip and larger body.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to be announced in July, following its predecessor’s schedule, with a potential release date in late July or early August. However, given the recent price hike for last year’s model and rising component costs, it’s likely that this year’s edition will come with a higher price tag.
