NASA Appoints New Leaders Amidst Changing Landscape

NASA Administrator Janet Petro announced the appointment of three exceptional leaders to key positions within the agency. Effective immediately, Vanessa Wyche has been named acting associate administrator, taking on this role after serving as director of the Johnson Space Center in Houston. As acting associate administrator, Vanessa will provide crucial leadership across the agency.

Additionally, Jackie Jester has been appointed as associate administrator for the Office of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs at NASA Headquarters in Washington. Her background in space policy, aviation safety, and legislative affairs makes her uniquely qualified to manage relationships with Congress and ensure policies align with national priorities.

Catherine Koerner, who announced her retirement after 34 years of dedicated service, has played a pivotal role in leading deep space exploration efforts. Lori Glaze will serve as acting associate administrator for the Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate, bringing expertise and leadership to advance human exploration beyond low Earth orbit.
