Apple’s C2 Modem Expected to Debut in 2026 iPhone Pro Models

Apple’s next-generation C2 modem is expected to arrive in 2026 and debut in the company’s iPhone 18 Pro models, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The modem is seen as a key component in Apple’s efforts to outdo Qualcomm’s modem capabilities.

The C2 modem will reportedly support the ultra-fast 5G standard known as mmWave, which is currently lacking on the C1 modem that debuted in the iPhone 16e. This new technology is expected to provide better competing with Qualcomm’s modems in current iPhones.

In addition to the iPhone 18 Pro models, Apple’s second-generation 5G modem is also expected to arrive in iPad Pro models by 2027. The C2 modem is part of a broader effort by Apple to improve its cellular connectivity and extend battery life.

The new modem will be used in an upcoming ultra-thin iPhone model that is rumored to replace the Plus model in the iPhone 17 lineup. However, no official release date for this device has been announced yet.
