Markets React to Nvidia Earnings and Copper Tariffs

US stock futures are up, with the S&P 500 rising 0.3%, Nasdaq climbing 0.4%, and Dow futures gaining 0.2%. Investors await Nvidia’s (NVDA) fourth quarter earnings report, which will shed light on revenue from its Blackwell line of chips.

Nvidia’s stock slipped 2.8% on Tuesday but rebounded 1.2% in after-hours trading. Traders are also watching for tariff threats and export controls that could affect the chip giant.

Meanwhile, Super Micro Computer Inc.’s (SMCI) stock rallied after it met a Nasdaq deadline to submit delayed regulatory filings, avoiding delisting. Stellantis (STLA), Lowe’s (LOW), and Salesforce (CRM) will report their quarterly earnings on Wednesday.

Copper futures surged 4.5% as President Donald Trump signed an executive order to investigate the impact of duties on copper imports. The move has sparked market reaction, with traders taking note of the potential for new tariffs.
