Travis Kelce Plans to Play for Kansas City in 2025

Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach expressed confidence that tight end Travis Kelce will play for the team in 2025. Veach stated that Kelce “has that fire and desire to play” after a season where he struggled, posting career lows in receiving yards and touchdowns.

Coach Andy Reid was less definitive on Kelce’s future, saying he told the player to relax after their Super Bowl LIX loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. However, Reid also acknowledged that Kelce intended to play again in 2025.

Kelce himself stated that he is taking things one step at a time and not making any “crazy decisions.” The veteran tight end has an $11.5 million roster bonus on March 15, which would trigger in the final year of his contract, but there is no deadline for him to make a decision about playing next season.

Kelce’s comments come after a disappointing postseason performance where he was held to four catches for 39 yards. Despite this, the tight end remains a key component of the Chiefs’ offense and has expressed his desire to continue playing.
