Trump Administration Vows Unity Amid Security Transition

US President-elect Donald Trump’s national security team is working together with the outgoing administration to present a united front against global adversaries. Mike Waltz, Trump’s designated national security adviser, expressed confidence in the joint efforts of both administrations during an appearance on Fox News Sunday.

Waltz stated that Trump and his administration will engage in diplomatic negotiations to resolve ongoing conflicts, such as the war in Ukraine and hostilities in the Middle East. He emphasized that the US is working with European allies and other nations to address these crises.

However, some of Trump’s national security nominees have faced criticism and may face a tough Senate confirmation process. Tulsi Gabbard, the intelligence chief nominee, has sparked controversy over her past statements on Russia and Syria. Meanwhile, Pete Hegseth, the Defense Department nominee, has been accused of sexual assault, although no charges were filed.

Despite these concerns, Senator John Barrasso expressed support for confirming most of Trump’s cabinet picks quickly to ensure a smooth transition.
