Corsair’s Vice President of Finance, Ronald van Veen, recently sparked controversy by stating that Grand Theft Auto 6 would release on PC in early 2026. However, a representative from the company clarified that these comments were speculative and not based on any insider information.
Take-Two Interactive, the publisher of GTA 6, has committed to releasing the game in fall 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles only. The company’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, acknowledged that Rockstar Games’ release strategy often involves starting with console platforms before expanding to PC.
Rockstar Games has a history of releasing its big titles on PC eventually, but the delay for GTA 6 is expected to be significant. Given the importance of PC in multi-platform games’ success, the omission from the initial release window may be seen as a missed opportunity or even a mistake.
Zelnick’s response hinted that GTA 6 will eventually come to PC, citing the example of Civilization 7, which was released on multiple platforms simultaneously. However, it remains unclear how long PC gamers will have to wait for the game. A former Rockstar developer recently called on PC gamers to give the studio a chance to prove their commitment to PC gaming.
The release window for GTA 6 has sparked debate among fans, with some speculating that the delay could be due to concerns over the modding community’s involvement in previous games. Regardless, one thing is certain: PC players will have to wait until at least 2026 to play Grand Theft Auto 6.
