Tennis Tournament Suspended Due to Chile Power Outages

A state of emergency was declared in Chile, prompting authorities to impose a curfew and suspend play at the Movistar Chile Open tennis tournament on Tuesday. The curfew, which will last from 10 pm to 6 am, led to the end of play before it was scheduled to conclude. Despite six singles matches being completed, including two of three center court matches, several clashes were rescheduled for Wednesday. Play is set to resume at 2 pm local time on Wednesday with Laslo Djere facing Pedro Martinez in the first match.
