Footprints and drag marks up to 22,000 years old have been discovered at White Sands National Park in New Mexico. These marks are believed to be from people pulling wooden sleds, a primitive form of transportation known as a travois. According to Matthew Bennett, a University of Bournemouth expert, the travois is essentially a wheelbarrow without wheels. The discovery provides early evidence of this ancient mode of transport.
