Travis Kelce Expected to Return for 13th NFL Season

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is expected to return for a 13th NFL season, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport. The news comes after general manager Brett Veach expressed confidence in Kelce’s return during the NFL Scouting Combine. Head coach Andy Reid also stated his trust in Kelce, saying he thinks everything will work out.

Kelce is one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history, with 1,004 receptions, 12,151 receiving yards, and 77 touchdowns. He has won three Super Bowl rings and was named to 10 Pro Bowls. However, his age-35 season saw respectable numbers but career lows in yardage and touchdowns.

Despite this, Kelce’s return is a welcome sign for the Chiefs, who will benefit from his leadership and connection with quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The team has several young players entering their second year, including Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, Noah Gray, and Isiah Pacheco, who should improve with a full offseason.

The Chiefs’ recent failure to win the Lombardi Trophy after two consecutive appearances will make this season different for them. However, Kelce’s return will give them a spark they need to try and return to the mountaintop.
