National Transportation Safety Board chair Jennifer Homendy stated that the near-miss was a failure of the private jet crew to listen to air traffic control instructions. However, further investigation is needed before any conclusions or punitive action can be taken against the Flexjet crew.
This incident is part of a concerning trend of major aviation disasters in North America over the past few weeks, including crashes and midair collisions that have resulted in fatalities and injuries.
