Abdul Carter Pushes for No. 1 Draft Pick

Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter is confident he’s the best player in the country and should be drafted No. 1 overall by the Tennessee Titans. The team holds the top pick, which could go to a quarterback or one of several other elite prospects like Carter.

Carter believes being the first overall pick is crucial to his goals. “I feel like it’s very realistic,” he said. “I’m the best player in the country and the best player should be drafted No. 1.”

The last non-quarterback to receive the top pick was Georgia defensive lineman Travon Walker, who was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2022. Carter hopes to follow suit. He’s been working hard to achieve his dream, and believes he’s getting close.

Carter won’t participate in the NFL Combine due to a shoulder injury, but will work out at his Pro Day. He expects to be fully healed within a month, which would bring him closer to 100% health. Carter plans to attend the draft in Green Bay, where he’ll live up to his dreams by walking on stage as the top pick.

Carter’s comments demonstrate his determination and confidence in his abilities. The Titans will decide whether or not to take the Penn State edge rusher with the No. 1 overall pick, but Carter is convinced it’s meant to be.
