Michigan State stunned No. 16 Maryland with a half-court buzzer-beater from Tre Holloman on Wednesday. With less than three seconds left, the Spartans rebounded a miss from Ja’Kobi Gillespie and got it to Holloman, who launched it from behind the logo. The ball hit net nearly a second after the buzzer sounded, giving Michigan State the win.
This is the second half-court buzzer-beater in five games against Maryland for Michigan State. “I saw the rim and then the shot clock going down, so I had to throw it up,” Holloman said. He finished with nine points, three assists, and two rebounds.
The win extends Michigan State’s winning streak to four games, setting them up for a matchup against No. 11 Wisconsin on Sunday.
