The annual Oscar nominees’ class photo has been revealed, showcasing a sea of A-list celebrities and some notable absences. Team Wicked stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande stole the show with their colourful outfits, while fellow acting nominee Zoe Saldaña is tipped to win Best Supporting Actress. In contrast, Best Supporting Actor frontrunner Kieran Culkin was noticeably absent, but it’s a given he’ll take home the trophy.
On the other side of the room, biggest stars like Ralph Fiennes and Demi Moore gathered at the back, with Moore as the favourite to win Best Actress for her role in The Substance. Meanwhile, Timothée Chalamet, who was unexpectedly absent from the photo, could still pull off a surprise win for his role in A Complete Unknown.
The Black Box Diaries team made an effort to join hands and have fun, representing their documentary film nominated for Best Documentary Feature Film. Maya Gnyp, the producer of I Am Ready, Warden, stood out with her colourful and fuzzy jumper, making it this year’s best style. However, Emilia Pérez star Karla Sofía Gascón was noticeably absent from the photo, sparking controversy over her past tweets.
Despite the surprises, this year’s Academy Awards take place on Sunday 2 March, and fans will have to wait until then to see who’ll take home the coveted awards. Stay tuned for more news, updates, predictions, and coverage of the ceremony on Euronews Culture.
