Diddy Denied Bail as Sex Trafficking Trial Looms

Sean “Diddy” Combs was denied bail by US District Judge Arun Subramanian on Wednesday, awaiting a May sex trafficking trial. The judge cited evidence showing Combs to be a “serious risk” of witness tampering and prohibited communications with third parties while incarcerated.

Combs, 55, faces charges that he coerced and abused women for years, aided by associates and employees. Prosecutors argue that no bail conditions can protect the public from his potential flight. They claim he has orchestrated social media campaigns to influence jurors and contacted witnesses through third parties.

The judge found compelling evidence of Combs’s propensity for violence, stating, “There is compelling evidence of Combs’s propensity for violence.” The ruling follows a five-page order that rejected a $50 million bail package as insufficient to ensure public safety.
