The new mainline entry in the Monster Hunter series, Monster Hunter Wilds, has made a huge impact on Steam just one day after its release. The game reached an astonishing concurrent player peak of 1.307 million players, making it the third-highest peak among all Steam games.
While this number may have dropped to around 800,000 since, it’s expected to rise even higher over the weekend. This feat puts Monster Hunter Wilds in an elite group of top 10 Steam peaks ever, alongside popular titles like PUBG, Black Myth Wukong, and Counter-Strike 2.
Notably, three of these top 10 games were released within the past year alone, including Palworld and Black Myth Wukong. However, it’s worth mentioning that Monster Hunter Wilds has a low Steam user score of only 42%, mainly due to technical and optimization issues with the game.
Despite this, fans have generally praised the content of the game. Hopefully, patches will be released soon to address these problems and improve the overall gaming experience for players.
