2025 NFL Combine Winners & Losers: Speedsters Shine

The 2025 NFL Draft is just months away, and the top prospects are putting on a show at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis. While some players struggled with injuries, others impressed with their speed and athleticism. Here’s who helped or hurt their draft stock.

Top performers included James Pearce Jr., DE from Tennessee, who ran a 4.47 seconds 40-yard dash, the fastest time for defensive linemen so far. Shemar Stewart, DE from Texas A&M, also showcased his skills with a 10 feet, 11 inch broad jump and third-best 40-yard dash among edge rushers.

Other notable players included Landon Jackson, DE from Arkansas, who turned in the best vertical jump of the day at 40.5 inches, and Kain Medrano, LB from UCLA, who clocked a 4.46 seconds 40-yard dash.

However, not all prospects were able to participate due to injuries. Penn State DE Abdul Carter opted out due to a lingering shoulder injury, while Marshall star DE Mike Green and Michigan DT Kenneth Grant missed drills with hamstring strains. Smael Mondon Jr., LB from Georgia, also took a hard pass after missing a catch.

The NFL Combine is a crucial event for top prospects to improve their draft stock, and it’s clear that some players are already making a name for themselves. But who will be the first overall pick? Only time will tell.
