Actor Gene Hackman, 95, his wife Betsy Arakawa, 65, and their pet dog were found dead at their Santa Fe, New Mexico home. The police investigation has revealed new details about the cause of death, which still remain undetermined.
According to a recent report, officers observed a pair of feet and legs on the ground near the kitchen area, identifying them as Gene’s. The report also mentions that Gene was wearing gray sweat pants, a blue long-sleeve t-shirt, brown slippers, and a walking cane at the time of his death. A black heater was found near Betsy’s head, with officers suspecting it could have fallen if she had suddenly died.
The investigation has revealed that both Gene and Betsy showed signs of death, similar to those of each other. Two of their dogs were found alive at the scene, with one reported healthy and the other deceased in a closet. The autopsy has confirmed no signs of external trauma, leaving the cause of death undetermined.
Sheriff Adan Mendoza stated that there was no suicide note and no clear signs of trauma on the bodies. He also mentioned that an investigation into possible carbon monoxide leaks or gas leaks has found no evidence to support these theories. The sheriff’s department is now focusing on determining the exact circumstances surrounding the couple’s deaths.
The investigation continues as authorities seek to unravel the mystery behind Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa’s tragic passing.
