Monster Hunter Wilds Fights Back Against Free Character Changes

Capcom has left fans frustrated over the lack of free character changes in its latest game, Monster Hunter Wilds. Despite impressive improvements to gameplay and graphics, players will still have to pay for editing their characters or Palicos more than once.

Only one free edit voucher is given during the intro sequence, after which players must spend at least $6.99 to access the customization menu again. Players can purchase a three-pack of vouchers for $9.99, but there’s no way to earn them by playing the game.

The decision has left many longtime fans disappointed and frustrated, especially since some of the game’s stunning outfits can be swapped freely. Capcom has yet to explain its reasoning behind charging for character edits. The game, which debuted on Steam with over a million players, is still an exciting experience, but those planning to spend their weekend hunting will need to get their character just right early on.
