Xiaomi has launched its latest flagship smartphones, the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra, at the Mobile World Congress. The devices start at 999 euros ($1,047) for the base model and 1,499 euros ($1,571) for the Ultra variant.
Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform, both phones boast improved cameras and displays compared to their predecessors. Xiaomi aims to challenge Samsung in the premium market, where competition has intensified with Chinese brands like Oppo and Honor.
Xiaomi’s global smartphone shipments grew 15.4% year-on-year in 2024, outpacing rivals including Samsung and Apple, according to International Data Corporation. The company’s worldwide market share rose to 13.6%.
The firm’s expansion into electric vehicles has helped boost its brand, with the recent launch of SU7 creating buzz. Xiaomi’s shares have seen a nearly 300% rise in the last 12 months.
However, Xiaomi faces significant competition from Samsung and other Chinese brands in the premium smartphone market. To grow, the company must take share away from Samsung and other players.
