Spieth Falls Short at Cognizant Classic Amid Bay Hill Bid

Jordan Spieth’s comeback from a wrist injury continued with a strong performance at the Cognizant Classic, but ultimately fell short of securing a spot at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard. Spieth carded four straight rounds under par and finished 14-under, but lost three strokes to qualify.

Spieth’s fourth-round collapse was due in part to a frustrating triple bogey on the 17th hole, where he missed a key putt from the water hazard. Despite this, he expressed confidence in his game, stating that he’s progressing ahead of schedule and believes his form is more sustainable than ever before.

Other players who secured spots at Bay Hill include Aldrich Potgieter, Jacob Bridgeman, Ben Griffin, Isaiah Salinda, Max McGreevy, and Nick Taylor. The Aon Next 10 for the Arnold Palmer Invitational includes a star-studded field, with many top players vying for a spot in the tournament.

Spieth will now focus on his game ahead of THE PLAYERS Championship and the following week’s Valspar Championship, where he hopes to build momentum from this disappointing finish.
