Microsoft reported an outage on Saturday afternoon affecting tens of thousands of users, primarily with its Outlook service. The company identified a potential cause of the issue and reverted suspected code to alleviate impact. However, reports showed that various Microsoft 365 services were also affected, including Xbox services.
Users experienced errors when attempting to access their accounts using the Authenticator app for Outlook. The outage is not the first reported by users in recent weeks. In previous years, Microsoft has faced massive global outages, which took hours to resolve.
The company did not respond to a request for comment from CNN. DownDetector reported over 37,000 issues with Xbox services at their peak around 4:00 p.m. ET. The status of the service is being monitored by Microsoft for recovery.
