Grammy-Nominated R&B Singer Angie Stone Dies in Car Crash

Grammy-nominated R&B singer Angie Stone has died in a car crash at the age of 63. The incident occurred early Saturday morning on Interstate 65, about 5 miles south of Montgomery, Alabama.

Stone was traveling back to Atlanta from Alabama with several others when the vehicle she was riding in flipped over and was struck by a big rig. Only one other person, the driver of the Sprinter van, survived the crash.

According to Walter Millsap III, Stone’s manager, she was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

Stone was known for her hit songs “Wish I Didn’t Miss You” and “No More Rain (In This Cloud)”, as well as her work with other notable artists such as Betty Wright and Erykah Badu. She won the Soul Train Lady of Soul award and appeared in several films, including “The Hot Chick”, “The Fighting Temptations”, and “Ride Along”.

Her daughter, Diamond, released a statement saying that Stone was “heartbroken” over her death and had no idea such an incident would happen to her. The news has sent shockwaves through the music industry, with several tributes pouring in from colleagues and fans.
