The 2025 Oscars honored the James Bond franchise with a special tribute performance from celebrities including Margaret Qualley, Doja Cat, BLACKPINK’s Lisa, and Raye.
Margaret Qualley opened the tribute by performing iconic Bond theme songs “Live and Let Die,” “Diamonds Are Forever,” and “Skyfall” alongside three tuxedo-clad dancers.
The musical performance comes as a poignant moment given that Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson announced their departure from producing James Bond films in February 2025, citing the need to focus on other projects.
President of the Academy Janet Yang expressed excitement about the performance, stating it would be one of the highlights of the show.
The Best Original Song category presentation has also undergone changes this year, focusing instead on songwriters and personal reflections from those who bring the songs to life.
