A power outage at Baltimore-Washington International Airport has caused significant disruptions to air travel. The outage, reported at 7:40 a.m., affected areas of the main terminal and an adjacent parking garage. As of mid-morning, over 100 flights were delayed and several were canceled.
Baltimore Gas and Electric Company spokesperson Stephanie Weaver said crews are on site working to restore power. Airport officials advise passengers to check with their airlines for flight status updates. Some inbound flights have been diverted, while others used air stairs to deplane passengers as power was restored throughout the main terminal. The situation is being closely monitored, but no estimated time for full restoration has been given yet.
