Samsung has unveiled its Project Moohan Android XR headset at Mobile World Congress. The device is expected to hit the market in the next year and will be the first to utilize the Android XR platform, available on both headsets and glasses.
The Moohan headset is a full over-the-head device similar to the Apple Vision Pro, offering a wide field of view with high-quality displays for immersive experiences. Users can navigate via Google Maps, enjoy extended-view sports events, or access Gemini to plan travel. Samsung claims that integrating multimodal AI with advanced XR capabilities will provide context-aware and personalized experiences.
The headset features four cameras on the front and capacitive control strips on the stems. However, Samsung did not share any specs or details about the device. The company’s focus seems to be more on demonstrating its hardware rather than discussing technical specifications.
A key question remains: how Android XR will be presented in smart glasses is still unclear, as there are currently no mock-ups available.
