Jayhawks Fall to No. 3 Houston

Kansas dropped its second straight game, losing 65-59 on the road to top-ranked Houston in a crucial ESPN Big Monday showdown. The Jayhawks showed flashes of brilliance despite falling short.

Center Hunter Dickinson led the way with 17 points and 12 rebounds, while KJ Adams added 15 points. However, the team’s poor overall offense and inability to capitalize on scoring opportunities cost them the game.

Houston controlled the pace, forcing Kansas into turnovers and limiting their chances to gain separation. The Cougars’ LJ Cryer finished with 22 points, leading his team to a season sweep over the Jayhawks.

Kansas’s defense held its own, but ultimately couldn’t overcome its struggles on offense. Guards Zeke Mayo and Dajuan Harris combined for just seven points and eight turnovers, while the team committed 20 turnovers overall. The loss marks the Jayhawks’ ninth conference defeat this season, the most since the 1982-83 season.

Despite the setback, Kansas will look to bounce back when they host Arizona at Allen Fieldhouse on Saturday for senior night, marking the end of the regular season.
