French composer duo Clément Ducol and Camille took home the Oscar for best original song for their track “El Mal” from the musical “Emilia Pérez”. The award was presented by Mick Jagger.
The pair won despite facing stiff competition, including Diane Warren for “The Journey”, Elton John and Bernie Taupin for “Never Too Late”, and Abraham Alexander, Brandon Marcel and Black Pumas’ Adrian Quesada for “Like A Bird”.
In another music category, first-time Academy Award nominee Daniel Blumberg took home the trophy for original score for his work on “The Brutalist”, a film about a Hungarian architect who escaped the Holocaust.
